Unilever Injected USD 4 M in Bulgarian Plant
|
Unilever has invested over USD 4 M in the plant for margarine production in the town of Dobrich, about 500 kilometres northeast of Sofia.
The international manufacturer of food brands acquired the production of margarine at Kaliakra Company in May 2003.
The plant output is projected at 12,000 tons in 2005 after it recorded a 14% growth in 2004 year-upon-year. Its turnover for 2004 amounted to EUR 20 M.
Unilever holds 70% share on Bulgaria's margarine market against 60% two years ago, according to Martina Kastler, President of Unilever South Central Europe.
Unilever portfolio of leading brands includes Magnum ice cream, Dove, Omo, Flora, Hellmann's mayonnaise, Lipton tea and Knorr.
